Regardless of your age, needs or problem of the lower limb, we deliver the highest standard in clinical assessments and examinations.

A true flat arch can be seen when your arch touches the ground when walking and standing. This is usually a condition from birth. However, many people develop activity related or sporting injuries that are the result of poor foot mechanics. This can present in may different ways but the most common movement people hear is pronation.

Pronation is NOT A BAD MOVEMENT and whilst we need some for the pain free normal walking, too much will cause problems in the foot and the leg.
Below are a few more conditions we see on a daily basis:-

Plantar Fasciitis or Heel pain or Policeman's Heel

Knee Pain or Patello-Femoral Syndrome or Medial Knee Pain

Tired and Aching Legs

Achilles Tendon Pain or Achilles Tendonitis

Lower Back Pain

Shin Splints and Calf Pain

Outside of the knee and hip pain or Ilio Tibial Band Syndrome

Early intervention is vital to help to reduce recovery time. People will often stop their sporting activities because of a pain rather than consulting a professional who can keep them enjoying an active lifestyle. The Foot Function Centre has an unrivalled team of lower limb specialists ready to help you return quickly to full fitness. Prevention is always the best medicine and if you had an injury or feel something is not quite right then please take the time to seek professional independent advice.

Podiatry is the study of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower extremity.  Podiatry focuses on the function of the foot rather than the aesthetics.
