Practitioner Testimonials

"I continue to refer patients to Foot Function Centre for biomechanical analysis due not only because of their state of the art facilities but also their professionalism, knowledge and results.  Their ability to diagnose and treat lower limb biomechanical issues makes them a perfect adjunct to my work as a physiotherapist and I’d have no hesitation in recommending them."

"I had the pleasure of sitting in the biomechanical and gait analysis clinics run by the Foot Function Centre. Paul’s attention to details and background of each presentation, as well as meticulous clinical assessment is complemented by use of cutting edge gait analysis technology, and latest developments in orthotics technology. The combination enables Foot Function Centre to deliver a top level service, meeting both high level performance requirements of elite and professional athletes as well as others who may require better pain management, mobility, and quality of life.
Staff, admin team and management are professional and friendly, and the facility is perfectly suited for the purpose of the service."

Client Testimonials

"I wish I had known about the FFC years ago! I have recommended the service to everyone who has a hip, knee, back or foot problem, and two friends have had insoles and been very happy with the results."

I had been told about the services offered by the FFC by a colleague who was very pleased at the benefit he had gained. After years of struggling with unequal leg lengths resulting in hip joint deterioration I hoped it could help me. The centre is difficult to find, but has good car parking, and a pleasant reception area with welcoming receptionists.

The practise room is light, bright and modern. Patient examination is very interesting using computer technology, as well as a through visual check up. Paul really knows his anatomy and physiology, and inspires confidence as he blends his expert knowledge with a friendly explanation. I received made to measure insoles as a result of my consultation, and they are helping to maintain my posture following a hip replacement, and prevent deterioration (in combination with my exercises).

As a former GB age-group duathlete I had developed metatarsalgia in my right foot caused by a bunion which made it impossible for me to run more than a mile or two.  I had seen an NHS podiatrist but the "off the peg" orothotics they provided had just made the condition worse.  The only alternative appeared to be surgery but the orthopaedic consultant I saw couldn't guarantee it would improve the condition and might even make it worse.  Although I carried on cycling and swimming I started to gain weight which in turn made running more difficult & painful.
So I came to see Paul at the Foot Function clinic at a pretty low ebb. I thought I would never run again but after an initial very thorough assessment using state of the art technology Paul was certain that custom-made orthotics would sort the problem out.  They were ready very quickly & I gradually started running again. The pain gradually went but I was still struggling & very slow.  Paul was so positive & reassuring; he never gave up hope that the situation would improve.

"Six months later I have lost a stone and a half in weight & am running at speeds I never thought I would run again.  I can't recommend the Foot Function Clinic and all the staff there highly enough!"

Sarah from Claydon

The first time I came to see Paul I booked in for a 30 minute free consultation. I'd been running in pain for a good six months so it was such a relief to hear there was a simple solution to my problem. Paul didn't try to sell me any expensive treatments instead I was sent away with some exercises and told ice was my best friend. Within a few weeks I started to run again and had well and truly found my running mojo again.

I returned to see Paul for a full running assessment and this time is concentrated on the route of the problem. This time I left with a set on insoles and I can honestly say they have changed my life. Yes I still get pain but no more than my legs do after a long run. For the first time I'm looking forward to my next running challenge.

"I'm now recommending The Foot Function Centre to everyone who will listen."

Sylvie from Ipswich

I have recently developed osteo-arthritis in a toe, resulting in sporadic and unpredictable severe pain in various parts of the foot as well as in my calf; and as a keen walker this filled me with a sense of foreboding! A physiotherapist-friend recommended Foot Function, and I am immensely grateful to her.

From the start Paul inspired confidence with his easy, unpatronising manner and the almost-forensic interest he took in analysing the problem: discussing the way I was walking, for example, by studying with me a video of my legs and feet as I walked back and forth (technology clearly makes an important contribution at this practice), as well as examining the foot in question and discussing at length what hurt when, and why that might be, etc.

Whilst there is no "magic cure" for my problem, by understanding it better (Paul is an excellent communicator - I had one long, and one short follow-up session) and by following Paul's advice as well as a series of prescribed exercises, I have already eradicated nearly all of the calf pain and made the foot pain more manageable.  I'm now confidently looking forward to a forthcoming 6-day trek through Derbyshire!

I had never heard of the FFC until it was recommended to me by a friend who had also received treatment. Despite an apprehensive long drive and I am pleased to report it was the best decision I could have made.

At my first appointment Rochelle was very thorough in carrying out tests and checks to establish what was causing my symptoms (which was my biggest concern). I left this appointment with a better understanding of my problem, an exercise regime to follow and orthotics ordered.

"My queries have always been answered promptly and her advice, exercises and the orthotics have all made a big, big difference to mobility and fitness. Thank you!!"

Jo from Kings Lynn

"I am very pleased to report that the treatment helped to resolve my pain!"

Before my first appointment, I didn't really know what to expect having never seen a podiatrist before. I was a bit thrown by the premises being on an industrial estate, until I walked through the door and saw it was a very professional set-up with very friendly reception staff.

I found the appointment fascinating, very thorough, very informative and reassuring, and I was impressed with the amount of technical equipment available to help with diagnosis.

I was given exercises, fitted for orthotics, and advised as to footwear. I have since taken all 3 of my sons to see Paul and referred another friend who then referred her daughter.  All are very pleased with their treatment.

Podiatry is the study of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower extremity.  Podiatry focuses on the function of the foot rather than the aesthetics.
